Turtle Hatching with VerdiAzul at Playa Junquillal

Located in Junquillal beach, 4 of the 7 sea turtles that inhabit the world arrive, this being one of the reasons that makes Junquillal a magical place!

These species are the Leatherback (Dermochelys coriacea), Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) ,Black sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) and Hawksbills (Eretmochelys imbricata).

VerdiAzul is a local organization that works for the conservation of the environment through investigation, environmental education, and leadership integration for the purpose of natural protection.

It helps promote mitigation and adaptation to climate change, protection of sea turtles, dispose of solid waste, promote environmental awareness, and work with national and international volunteers.

The participants of their conservation programs are immersed in unique and different experiences where they are a part of our efforts to protect the environment.
